HISTORY IN THE MAKING

Entering its sixth full year of operation the state-of-the-art Laredo Entertainment Center has established itself as the premiere entertainment option in south Texas and Northern Mexico. This multi purpose facility allows affordable, family-oriented entertainment for sporting events, concerts, trade shows, civic events, ice shows, circuses, boxing, rodeos and more.

As the home of the Laredo Bucks hockey club the LEC was a formidable obstacle for visiting teams in the 2002-03 CHL season as the Bucks were a league best 26-4-2. In the 2003-04 CHL season the LEC again proved formidable as it is was voted toughest building to win in as the Bucks posted a 27-2-3 record and captured the President's Cup on home ice. Laredo went 22-6-2 in the 2004-05 season and posted a 27-4-1 record in 2005-06, capturing the President's Cup again. In 2006-07 the Bucks went 20-9-3 on home ice, and went 24-7-1 during the 2007-08 season. The Bucks are a combined 146-32-12 through six seasons at the LEC.

The 178,000 square foot, $36.5 million facility seats 6,500 people for hockey and up to 10,000 for concerts. It has 14 luxury suites, four meeting rooms and a private club for 200 season-ticket holders.

Past events have included: Shakira, Elton John, Alan Jackson, Juanes, Julio Iglesias, Cher, WWE, Santana, ZZ Top, Juanes, the Harlem Globetrotters, Ringling Brothers, Disney on Ice, Sesame Street Live and many others.

The LEC continues to move forward with exciting entertainment beginning with a five year run hosting the Miss Texas USA Pageant, which began in June of 2004.

More than just a building to house events, the LEC has become a true gathering place where members of the community can come for a night of fun and festivities.
