2007-08 Bucks Appearances (New Photos Below **March 3**)
**On September 4th the Bucks participated in the Accelerated reading program at LISD Cigarroa Middle School read to children.
**On October 14th the Bucks participated in the The Imaginarium of South Texas benefit gala
**On October 21st the Bucks participated in The Laredo Bridge System bingo fundraiser event to collect monies for ALS.
**On October 28th the Bucks participated in St. Jude Children Hospital Cheer & Dance Expo.
*On November 7th the Bucks participated in KLDO/Univision/FOX Dulce Vida Diabetes Awareness Health Fair & Expo. & Doctor's Hospital
**On Thursday November 8th Steve Simoes and Andrew Desjardins made an appearance at the Matheson Tri-Gas Welding and Cutting Show on loop 20. The two signed autographs for all those in attendance, with Desjardins making an appearance on Big Buck Country to help promote the event.

**On Monday November 12th Adam Rivet and David Walker participated in "Children's Book Week" at Abraham Kazen Elementary school. Rivet and Walker read stories to five different classes at the school, then signed autographs. Both received certificates from the Abraham Kazen Elementary for participating in the event.

**On Tuesday November 13th the Bucks had nearly 5,500 children from local Laredo schools at the LEC for the McDonald's Kid's Day game. The Bucks thank all the schools and sponsors who made this event possible.
**Novembe 27th the Bucks staff attended the Send off ceremony for Laredo's 436th Chemical Unit of the Texas Army National Guard at Shirley Field
**Also on Tuesday November 27th the Bucks and various sponsors donated 900 tickets to Laredo's 436th Chemical Unit of the Texas Army National Guard and their families to enjoy one of their last nights in the U.S at the Bucks/Bees game. The troops helped lead the Bucks on the ice, drop the first puck, and played on-ice games during intermissions. The troops were deployed to Afghanistan on November 29th.

**On Thursday November 29th Coach Rosco and the Bucks stopped by Guerra Communications to help out with the make-a-wish radiothon.
**On Friday November 30th, Bucky, along with members of the front office staff were at the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the civic center.
**On Wednesday December 5th Bucks radio broadcaster Bryan Benway and fellow front office member Donald Thomson participated in Career day at United South High School. The two spoke to two different classes that day about their career paths.
**On Thursday December 6th Bucks players David Walker, Corey Courchene, and Matt Summers, along with Bucky and members of the front office staff participated in Univision's annual toy drive to benefit local Laredo children.
**On Monday December 17th the team and members of the front office staff delivered toys to nearly 30 children at Doctors Hospital. The toys were donated by Bucks fans during the toy drive at the LEC. This is an annual event for the Bucks, who always have been involved in the Laredo community. The team arrived at the hospital at 2pm and were greeted by the staff, who then led the Bucks to the Children’s ward on the second floor to start spreading some cheer, and hand out toys. The Bucks also posed for pictures and signed autographs. The Bucks will donate toys to the Doctors Hospital Children’s Cancer Center as well.
**January 8th, 2008: Steve Simoes was at TCI Tire Center to sign autographs for fans who stopped by the store to pick up their Steve Simoes Action Figures.
**January 10th, 2008: ** Kevin Beech and Matt Summers along with Bucks front office staff members, attended the U.S Border Patrol Chamber Plaque Presentation at the U.S Border Patrol Chamber on Del Mar Blvd.
**January 23rd the Bucks participated in the career day festivities at Career Day event at Memorial Middle School.
**January 23 Steve Simoes and Adam Rivet were at the Commander's reception at the LEC.
*January 31st James Hiebert helped teach 4th graders at the Bienstar Health Club after school program how to play hockey.
**February 1st David Walker participated in Career Day at Zaffrini Elementary school

The Bucks were up early on February 26, when most of the team, staff, and Bucky attended the free breakfast event at Wendy’s to help promote the breakfast menu. During the event Bucky was outside Wendy’s waving people into the building, while the players signed autographs with fans
Also on February 26 Chris Korchinski and Dustin Traylen participated in Read Across America Week at Sanchez/Ochoa Elementary school. Korchinski and Traylen read books and taught hockey to Children With Autism, and shared stories of how they learned the game in the their childhood days. The pair then posed for pictures and signed autographs for students. Traylen and Korchinski each received a care package from Sanchez/Ochoa, and a certificate signifying their contrtributions to Children With Autism.
On February 27th Reliant Energy, a proud corporate partner of the Laredo Bucks, generously Donated 50 tickets to Santo Niño Elementary School for Reliant Energy Night at the LEC. The tickets were donated to 50 fourth and fifth-grade
Students and their chaperones.
Rita Gonzalez, a straight A student and member of the basketball,
volleyball, and track team, was selected by her school to participate in the
pre-game ceremonial puck drop with Reliant Energy executive Sidney Evans.
Out of the 50 students from Santo Niño Elementary, 48 of them experienced a
Bucks hockey game for the very first time. Along with their tickets, each of
the students also received a free t-shirt courtesy of Reliant Energy. Bucky was on hand to greet the students once they arrived at the arena and entertained them throughout the game. Even Laredo Mayor, Raul Salinas, greeted the students during an intermission
break.
On February 28 Derek Legault and John Ceci attended a pep rally at Matias De Llano Elementary school to encourage the students to work hard for their upcoming TAKS test.
Legault and Ceci got the students excited with cheers and chants, before each of them got on the microphone to give the students encouragement to do well on the exam. Legault and Ceci then posed for pictures and signed autographs with the students, who then continued to prepare for the test this week.
